A goal 5 minutes from time from Mooney rescued a point for Holwell at the Mary Linwood Ground, home of Aylestone Park. Aylestone who currently sit and will finish the season 2nd bottom of the EMCL took advantage of a below par Holwell performance.
Hatton taking sole charge for the final time before Daws returns for the final game of the season after his 6 match ban, was down the bare bones again with Parra Watson (injured), Wells (injured), Calver (injured), Denigan (away), Stevenson (away), Byrne (returned to parent club), and Rose (suspended).
Holwell fell behind early but a goal from Foster right on the stroke of half time levelled things for Sports. Hibbett then gave Holwell the lead on the hour mark with a header from a corner.
Aylestone however hit back and two goals in quarter of hour put them 3-2 ahead, before Holwells top scorer Mooney netted his 33rd of a very prolific season to salvage a point for Holwell.
The result was disappointing but did maintain Holwells record of not being defeated by a team in bottom 8 of the EMCL, winning 12, drawing 5, with one to play (Holbrook 12th)
The performance fell below what is expected from the current squad and they will look to make amends and end the season on a high by completing a league double over Holbrook Miners Welfare who crashed St Andrews championship party by defeating them 2-1 at the weekend putting the title back into Bardon Hills hands. (Who Holbrook entertain on Wednesday 22nd).
