Holwells stuttering league form as they succumbed to a 2-0 home defeat against Nottingham side Radford.

The defeat also come at a greater cost than just the three points. Daws' injury hit squad also suffered another double blow. Foster appears to have pulled a hamstring while Hibbitt also was brought of late on with a sore groin.

As a result of the injury sutained by Stevenson at the weekend, Daws has moved quick in signing a replacement in the shape of Tom Manship. Manship was brought straight into the starting eleven for the visit of Radford in the only change to side.

A well supported Radford started brightly and were causing the Holwell defence a few problems with the pace of their attack. Radford hit the post and made sure Cragg was alert with some shots from distance as they begin to threaten.

Unfortunately for Radford a injury sustained by one of their forwards saw them lose momentum and Holwell seized the opportunity to grow into game and threaten themselves. Firstly Manship had a effort blocked, before Stannard tested the goalkeeper from range. Further chances followed for Stannard and Foster but neither were taken.

As half time approached Foster was replaced when feeling his hamstring pull when trying to join in an attack. Foster was replaced by Calver.

After half time Holwell looked to take charge of the game but a change in attacking system by Radford saw them looking even more dangerous now. King who had begun on the wing then went and played as a conventional forward as Radford looked to play off of their big centre forward with King primarily looking for second balls off him.

Chances for both team came and went, until King broke the deadlock with 20 minutes to go. King finished off well when reaching the flick on from his strike partner before directing the ball past a helpless Cragg.

Holwell then suffered their second injury of the evening when Hibbitt hobbled off and was replaced by Barnard.

Despite trying their best to conjure up an equaliser Holwell couldn't create that golden opportunity, and their miserable night was compounded when Radford scored again on the break. A good run and cross from the Radford right was only half blocked as King tucked in the loose ball for his Radfords second of the game.

Defeat sees Holwell slip to 18th in EMCL ahead of this weekends massive FA Cup tie away at Spalding.
