For the second time this season Holwell and Barrow couldn't be separated as this time they played out a 0-0 stalemate at Riverside Park.

With the two sides separated by two points and next to each other in the table, Holwell new a win at Riverside Park would see them leapfrog Barrow into 8th with two games hand but it remains as it was following a tight encounter.

Hatton was back in the dugout after missing the past two games. With Parrra-Watson, Calver, Wells, Byrne and McKay all missing and with Ridout late arriving at the game Holwells squad was stretched. Recalled from Saturday victory over Anstey was Randall and Hallam while Smith was also given a start.

The first half was a scrappy affair, played as a typical local derby but was often interrupted by an official who for the first half at least was very insistent on speaking with as many players as he could and even the Barrow manager.

The second half continued as the first half had been played but this time the official had, had enough of talking with players and began brandishing his yellow card at regular intervals.

Unlike the first half though there was some goal mouth action to report. Smith cleared off the line as Barrow started brightly but they then shut up shop and made defence their priority only threatening Holwell through set prices.

Barnard went close for Holwell after 55 mins but shot just wide.

Holwell pressed forward looking to break the deadlock as Barrow became a little last ditch in their attempts to retain their clean sheet.

Mooney jinked inside onto his but his effort was blocked, before Hibbitt saw his volley also blocked. Stevenson shot over from a free kick, before Mooney saw his shot deflected wide. Their was still time for Foster to threaten but he also saw his effort to the wrong side of the post as Holwells momentum fizzled out.

The draw the least Holwell deserved hasn't really helped their push for a top 6 finish and became even more frustrating when other result came in and showed the other 3 teams above them also dropped points.

Next up for Holwell is a trip to a rejuvenated Graham Street Prims.

Holwell; Stainsby, Smith, Randall, Hallam, Chapman, Barnard (Ridout 65mins) Stevenson, Hibbitt, Foster, Mooney, Stannard
Subs not used; Denigan, Hatton
