Holwell fail to take advantage of ten man Bardon Hill.
With only away games left in which to complete their League campaign for this season Holwell first travelled to Bardon Hill on Saturday.
To commemorate Mrs Christine Walker a long term supporter of Holwell Sports FC who died in the week, the teams gave their respect to the former Secretary and Treasurer of the club by observing a customary minutes silence before kick off.
Bardon Hill struggled to field a team and indeed started with only ten men but unfortunately a jittery Holwell, still suffering after their League cup semi final defeat last week, could not dominate enough to turn the ample chances they had in the first half to goals.
Going in at half time level nil, nil hopefully something would break after half time. It was not to be and with Bardon now fielding eleven men things did not look good.
On the hour Rich Hanslow broke the deadlock for the home side and compounded Holwell’s fears when he scored again on 75mins. It looked as though Holwell had let another chance go to climb up the top half of the league but on 78minutes they were awarded a penalty for hand ball in the box after some pressure and Graham Keast stepped up to slot the ball home.
Holwell were now in the driving seat and looked good for at least one more goal and on 81mins Scott Mooney saved the day when he equalised. FT 2-2
