Holwells quest for a top 6 finish suffered a second set back in a week after being held to a 3-3 draw by Radcliffe Olympic.

On a cold foggy Tuesday evening Holwell entertain Radcliffe with what was one of their games in hand on the teams above them. Unfortunately a late leveller by Jack Smith frustrated Holwell meaning Holwell now sit 11 points adrift of Ashby in 6th with two games in hand.

With Parra-Watson unavailable Daws was forced into a reshuffle. Hallam dropped back into the back four, Calver and Smith came in with Stannard dropping to the bench after picking up a knock at the weekend.

With Radcliffe buoyed after their weekend win away at Blaby it was they who started the brightest and got their just rewards when Potts was able to tap in a rebound from a Stainsby save after 25 mins. Holwells evening got even worse 10 mins later when Sinott poked home at the back post from a swift Radcliffe counter attack.

Holwell needed a response and within a minute Mooney had a shot saved by Dunn who then managed to keep Wells out following up on the rebound. A minute later and Holwell reduced the arrears when Foster slipped Mooney through who finished well across Dunn in the Radcliffe goal.

Holwell now playing with a sense off urgency levelled the game moments later when Wells and Mooney combined before Wells was brought down by Dunn. Mooney stepped up and set the keeper the wrong way to seal his 26th goal of the season.

It was a super comeback by Holwell considering they never found their feet in the first half till the 35th minute and being 0-2 down.

With momentum on their side and a few defensive issues cleared up at half time Holwell emerged and took the game to Radcliffe. Mooney saw a snap shot saved by Dunn before Foster drilled wide. Mooney tried his luck from a free kick but was just over.

Holwell finally made the break through in the 62nd minute when Stevenson crossed for Wells whose header found the back off the net for his 15th of the season.

Knowing that a fourth goal would all but seal the victory Holwell continued to press with Foster and Smith both seeing shots blocked. Radcliffe however weren't done and began to push Holwell deeper and deeper and were denied a penalty claim off their own.

Radcliffe's pressure inevitably told and after being warned moments early from a corner, Holwell were then punished for letting the ball bounce across the goal as Smith prodded home after lurking at the back post.

On the balance off a play a draw was a fair result with both sides showing fight and determination to comeback from being behind.

Holwells next game is away at St Andrews who currently sit in second place, 6 points adrift of league leaders Bardon.

Holwell; Stainsby, Calver, Ridout, Hallam, Chapman, Foster, Smith, Stevenson, Barnard, Wells (Stannard 83 mins), Mooney
